On this episode of Making Elephants Fly, Terry sits down LIVE from The Thing 2018 in Orlando Florida, with the former Vice President of the Magic Kingdom Dan Cockerell (who was also the VP of EPCOT and Hollywood Studios before taking that position). If the last name sounds familiar its because Dan’s Dad, Lee Cockerell has been on three episodes of the show. We talk about Dan’s journey from the front desk at Contemporary Resort to running the day to day operations of that largest theme park in the world. After a fulfilling and exciting 26-year career with the Walt Disney Company, and upon becoming empty nesters, Dan and his wife Valerie have made the decision to set out on a new adventure, balancing their time between Orlando and Boulder, Colorado. Dan has been a keynote speaker for the world-renowned Disney Institute for 18 years and worked with some of the worlds most remarkable brands, including the USAA Bank, General Motors, the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Army, the Southern Methodist University Business School, Porsche A.G., and United Airlines.
