It’s Sunday and I’ve got a word, so I’m gonna preach for a minute.
I have a question for you, Do you suffer from Promiseland Syndrome? So I know you’re asking, Terry what is Promiseland Syndrome. Well I’m glad you asked. PLS as will it is when you have been wandering around the desert of your calling and yet you never seem to break through. You keep stepping up the Red Sea and know just on the other side is everything you’ve ever wanted.
You can see the promisedland, yet there seems like an ocean between you and what you want. In your head is an endless narrative that you’re not worthy of it. All of those around you are jealous of the success you’ve had so you feel alone. Every life event seems like sharks in the water that keep you from going for it. The self doubt is deafening. The lack of belief is crippling. You feel like you are almost there yet somehow you self sabotage stepping into what you were called to do.
Our disbelief is the ocean that stands in between wondering in the desert and the Promisedland. See the calling of God works just like the land he gave to His people. We just have to take claim to it. Just like the land that God gave to the Israelites, even today they are fighting for it. So just cause you get there, I’m not promising easy.
I heard a YMCA commercial this weekend and one of the lines hit me like a ton of bricks, “Your Why is the Starting Line.” If you can get clarity on your way, and your calling is your what you taking action is your How.
The cure is simple, step into what is yours. You’ve been God designed for the work He’s called you to. God doesn’t need other people’s opinions to equip you for what you have been called to. Stop settling for aimlessly wandering the wilderness and step into what is already yours. Let’s PLS for good and allow yourself to go in and posses the land.
What if you gave yourself the gift of belief today. I can believe in, but I can’t believe for you.
